Greetings, families!

By now, your child should have brought home her/his/their report card for the first quarter. Please take the time to review this information with your child. We will be collecting the signed slips, so please send those back in at your earliest convenience.

As always, please be in touch if you have any questions/concerns about your child's performance in a particular class.

iPad Reminders

Greetings Team Phoenix students and families!

We wanted to send some reminders about the expectations for iPad use in school. For students who do bring their iPads home, they are expected to bring them back to school the next day, fully charged and ready to use. All students were issued one charger from the school (through the grant). If something has happened to the charger, families will need to replace it.

Thank you for supporting your child's use of this tool in school.

Imitation!

We have taken a break from reading the amazing Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson.
We are now studying her style, selecting our favorite poems and imitating her work by writing a poem like hers, but with a different topic!
Ask your favorite Phoenix student for a peek at their poem!

Student Interns in Phoenix Language Arts

Hi Phoenix Families,

We are lucky to have two student interns with us in Language Arts.

Ms Hanf is with us Monday and Wednesday afternoons.  She is a junior at Saint Michaels College.

Ms. Sugar is with us on Tuesday ( all day) and Friday morning.  She is a senior at Champlain; in January she will be with us full time as she becomes a student teacher.

These preservice teachers bring enthusiasm to their work here. We are so fortunate to have them!
